We're getting excited!

We’re excited that we’ve got a really solid foundation for the Community Action Plan through the great response to the community survey.  Getting responses from 5-10% of the population is usually seen as good, but over 30% responded in Stratherrick and Foyers!  That gives a great understanding of local challenges and aspirations for developing practical solutions for the future.

We’re also excited that we’re now about to start working with the whole community to turn your aspirations into practical solutions.  Involving everyone is always a challenge, even without lockdown, so we’re offering three options:

  • Community Assembly - on Thursday 15 April at 7:30pm, open to all.  Most of the evening will be in small groups exploring practical solutions to the aspirations expressed in the survey.  We won't finish that on Thursday night, but we'll get off to a good start.
  • Ideas Bank - the brand new Ideas Bank is a quick and easy way for folk to shape their future and see what others are suggesting.  Every idea will feed into the working groups.
  • Working groups - after the first Assembly, we’ll set up working groups (open to all) to continue fleshing out practical solutions to the five main aspirations from the community survey, which are explained in the Ideas Bank.  Each group will meet a couple of times before reporting back to a second Community Assembly on Thursday 27th May.  That’s where we’ll agree what should be in the Community Action Plan.

Hope to see you all on Thursday 15th April!
