Idea:

Let's Get Rid Of Rhododendron Ponticum

Rhododendron ponticum is an non-native invasive species that has no place in our natural environment. It forms large stands around the Falls of Foyers area, Inverfarigaig and Upper Foyers. Its is probably present elsewhere in the community too. Let's get rid of it before it spreads any further! It would require a coordinated community level approach to do this, as the plant is growing in privately-owned gardens, land associated with local businesses, larger land holdings, as well as the National Forest Estate. Perhaps funding could be provided to pay for the cost of removal and to provide replacement (non-native shrubs) for landowners who are left with gaps to fill following its removal.
